ACC GeorgiaThe Georgia General Assembly passed reforms to Georgia’s Certificate of Need (“CON”) laws in H.B. 1339, which was signed into law by Governor Kemp on April 19, 2024, and went into effect on July 1, 2024.
Join us for a discussion on the effect of H.B. 1339’s reforms, both in terms of health planning and procedural changes. Topics will include:
- New streamlined processes for Certificate of Need (“CON”) applications and appeals
- Changes to existing CON exemptions, including for ambulatory surgery centers, hospitals, and diagnostic imaging
- New CON exemptions, including for outpatient birthing centers, psychiatric and substance abuse inpatient programs, and rural hospitals
- The Department of Community Health’s latest implementing regulations
