CLE/CPD & Certification Credit

  • How to interpret the CLE note in each session’s description on the program schedule

Please check back on the program schedule in spring 2025, for updates to each session's CLE eligibility note in its description.

This session is likely eligible (or is eligible) for CLE/CPD credit.

Based on title, description, and anticipated substance of the session, it will likely qualify for CLE/CPD credit in most jurisdictions.

    Additionally:

To help you as you select sessions, the below types of programs are likely to qualify for credit in most jurisdictions:

    • Skills: “How to … as a lawyer”;
    • Substantive discussion of law;
    • Specialty credits: Ethics, Elimination of Bias (EOB), Substance Use Disorders, Mental Health Issues, Diversity
      • Many jurisdictions have special requirements, but we are seeing more approvals of EOB, Diversity, and Wellness credits.

    ---

This session may be eligible for CLE/CPD credit.

The session’s description is still forthcoming or may still be edited to encompass additional aspects that would make it more likely to be eligible for credit.

    Additionally:

As you select your sessions, please note that the below types of programs may qualify for credit (not guaranteed), since they have caveats:

    • Law Practice Management: Legal Technology, Project Management, Office Systems, Billing
      • Must focus on specific skills lawyers need and the effect that the skills may have on the practice of law
    • Soft Skills: Communication, Leadership, Time Management, Speaking Skills
      • Must be created specifically for and focused on application to a lawyer audience

    ---

This session is likely ineligible (or is not eligible) for CLE/CPD credit.

Based on the session’s current title, description, and anticipated substance, it is unlikely to qualify for CLE/CPD credit.

    Additionally:

As you select your sessions, please note that the below types of programs are unlikely to qualify for credit:

    • Marketing, Client Development, Career Development, Vendor Demos
  • What do the numbers on the CLE/CPD chart mean?

In the CLE/CPD chart (link coming in early spring 2025), the total credits listed reflect the maximum number of credits an attendee can earn at CCU 2025, including the maximum ethics/specialty credits. On the chart, a note of "eligible" means that an attendee barred in that jurisdiction can receive CLE/CPD credit for that jurisdiction, but it is through jurisdictional reciprocity.

  • How do I calculate my credits?

    • Each session's description includes a CLE eligibility note. Review the CLE eligibility notes for the sessions you plan to attend. Also refer to the CLE/CPD chart (link coming in early spring 2025) for the maximum number of general CLE credits and/or specialty credits your jurisdiction has approved CCU for.
    • Pending session approval, in 60-minute states, every 60 minutes of instruction equals 1.0 credit. In 50-minute states, every 60 minutes of instruction equals 1.2 credits.
    • For specific CLE-related questions, please contact cle-cpd@acc.com.
  • The meeting is done. How do I get my CLE/CPD credits (Certificate of Attendance)?

About 1-2 weeks following the end of the meeting, we will email all attendees with information about accessing their personal CLE/CPD Service Center, where they will be able to:

    • confirm their contact details,
    • confirm their jurisdiction(s),
    • confirm the sessions they attended, and then
    • download their Certificate of Attendance.

Didn't receive the email about confirming CLE/CPD credits?

We ask attendees to first check their spam/junk mail folders. The email sender will be ACC Education.

If you still can't find the email, please contact us and we will re-send you that information.

Questions about specific jurisdictions/states, or specific sessions?

    Please email cle-cpd@acc.com.

  • Do I need to send my confirmed credits to my state bar?

For some jurisdictions, ACC will report your confirmed credits to your state bar for you.

For others, you will need to self-report your credits.

This information will be included in the CLE/CPD chart (link coming in early spring 2025).

  • More questions about CLE/CPD at CCU 2025?

Contact cle-cpd@acc.com. Please allow 2 business days for replies.

  • Can I make my hotel reservation before registering for CCU?

No. You MUST be a confirmed attendee of CCU 2025 in order to make your reservation at the host hotel and receive the ACC negotiated rate.

  • How do I change the courses I will be attending?

Once session selection opens (we will notify all registered attendees when it opens):

    1. Visit your Registration Statement, click on the red "Options" dropdown at the top right, and choose "Select your sessions."
    2. Check or uncheck the box next to the session(s) you wish to change your attendance of.
    3. Be sure to click "Save My Selections" at the bottom of the page.

After the conference mobile app has launched, you can change your sessions through the app.

  • Where are the course materials?

To access course materials (once available), please visit your Registration Statement, click the blue "Options" dropdown menu, and select "Access course materials."

Please note, course materials are only available electronically via your Registration Statement or the conference mobile app. We recommend that you download the relevant course materials before the meeting starts, for ease of access.

  • Will sessions be recorded?

    Yes, sessions will be recorded.

During the registration process, you can add-on post-meeting access to CCU 2025 session recordings* for US$149 (normally priced at $60 per recording). Or, return to your Registration Statement to add-on this access.

Recordings are not available for free viewing.

*Due to their format, roundtables and workshops will not be recorded. Recordings will be available 2-3 weeks after the meeting, and access is valid for one calendar year. CLE/CPD eligibility of on-demand recordings will vary by topic and jurisdiction. On-demand credit will not be available in Virginia. CLE-CPD@acc.com will be happy to answer your eligibility questions.

  • I cannot attend in person. Is there an option to participate virtually?

No, there is not a virtual attendance option.

Most sessions will be recorded and the recordings will become available for purchase through the ACC Online Education library after CCU has concluded. Recordings are not available for free viewing.

  • I cancelled my CCU registration with ACC. Will ACC also cancel my hotel reservation?

No. Cancelling your CCU registration will NOT automatically cancel your hotel reservation. Please contact the hotel directly to cancel your reservation. Your hotel reservation cancellation is subject to the hotel’s cancellation policy.

  • I have another question about rates/registration deadlines/group discounts/substitutions.

Please visit our Rates page for answers to your questions.

  • What is the suggested attire?

While onsite, most attendees choose to dress business casual. We encourage you to dress comfortably, as we want to encourage an informal environment, in which your attention is centered on your education.

Please note, meeting rooms are often a bit cool, so we recommend bringing a jacket or sweater.
