ACC's second virtual Annual Meeting draws in over 2400 attendees from 42 countries, spanning 10 different time zones.
WASHINGTON – The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) hosted its second virtual Annual Meeting drawing in over 2400 attendees from 42 countries, spanning 10 different time zones. Plus, 49 legal solution providers participated in sessions and gave attendees information on the latest legal technology and services available. The high level of participation from corporate legal department professionals from around the world highlights both the meeting’s critical importance to the international in-house community, and the willingness of lawyers to continue meeting virtually in large numbers to learn and network with peers. All on-demand programs remain available to meeting attendees through the end of January 2022 for viewing. For those who didn’t register, content packages focused on specific topics will be available for purchase in the coming weeks as well.
“Even my high expectations were exceeded for the 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting,” said Veta T. Richardson, president and CEO of ACC. “ACC continues to have the highest caliber of speakers from some of the most recognizable companies in the world, including CLOs from more than a dozen Fortune 500 companies. And by listening to feedback we received last year, we were able to improve opportunities for attendees to network and interact with each other on the virtual platform. Cheers to our attendees, sponsors, and the entire ACC team, for once again making the Annual Meeting a memorable and informative conference for everyone.”
Some of the world-class keynote speakers attendees heard from included:
- Lucy Fato, Executive Vice President, General Counsel, & Global Head of Communications and Government Affairs, American International Group, Inc.
- David Flavell, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, PepsiCo
- Shannon Klinger, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, Moderna, Inc.

Attendees had access to daily keynote addresses, live interactive workshops, roundtable discussions, special sessions for the ACC CLO Club, substantive CLE/CPD courses, a virtual exhibit hall of legal service vendors, and networking sessions. New learning pathways were a huge success as they allowed individuals to follow a theme and attend sessions that were most aligned with their individual interests, needs, or geographic location.
Over 100 legal and technical sessions were held, and covered topics such as COVID-19 and the law department; environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues; intellectual property (IP) law; legal ethics; crisis management; business strategy for in-house counsel; legal operations and law department management; and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
