Human Representation

Consistent with ACC's core operating value of promoting diversity and inclusiveness within ACC and the in-house community as a whole, it is critical that any group image or series of images of humans reflect diversity in gender and race, not exclusive of other types of diversity as well, i.e. ability, age, body type, ethnicity, etc. Images of ACC's diverse global membership in full-color, B&W, or color-screened should be incorporated whenever appropriate.

Custom Artwork

Custom Artwork

The ACC Creative Services & Design (CSD) team along with select vendors create custom branded artwork for most major ACC HQ campaigns and initiatives. This branded imagery should be the primary visual representation for marketing ACC products.

If you'd like the in-house design team to create custom branded art for your ACC product, please fill out a request form via Smartsheet.

When choosing an unbranded stock image, preference will always be given to original ACC member photos. Both curated collections and the full catalogue are available within our internal Sharepoint.

Please also review and share our photography guidelines when contracting an event photographer.

Stock Imagery

Stock Imagery/Illustration

While every effort should be made to use branded imagery or original photography, ACC has a team-based subscription to shutterstock.com for use when necessary. Several internal divisions and teams have direct access to select, download, and to manipulate images within the Shutterstock platform.

Any other team or HQ staff member without direct access can search images on shutterstock.com and request downloading/sizing/cropping services by submitting a request to CSD via Smartsheet.

Stock Photography General Tips

In addition to the guidance provided elsewhere on this page, please keep in mind the following tips for selecting and using stock photography:

  • Avoid disembodied hands, torsos & other body parts. Headshots are an exception.
  • Avoid images that are or could be culturally/racially insensitive.
  • Avoid unprofessional or cartoonish images in general.
  • Make time to review your photo libraries often and purge images that may be out-of-date, overused, or otherwise unfavorable.
  • If you are in doubt, please do not hesitate to consult the design team.
