In September 2020, the Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC) was tasked to inquire into the potential simplification of laws that regulate financial services in Australia.
The current ALRC inquiry: Review of the Legislative Framework for Corporations and Financial Services Regulation is part of the Government’s response to the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry released in February 2019.
The initial findings from the ALRC’s inquiry will be explored in a webinar on May 17, by Nicholas Simoes da Silva, Legal Officer, Australian Law Reform Commission, together with The Hon Justice John Middleton, part-time Commissioner, Australian Law Reform Commission, Judge, Federal Court of Australia and The Hon Justice SC Derrington, President, Australian Law Reform Commission, Judge, Federal Court of Australia.
