Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Charlotte

Autumn is sneaking up on us and before you know it, cooler weather and harvest time will be here!  Join Womble Bond Dickinson and fellow ACC Charlotte members and families for an afternoon of pumpkin decorating, hay rides, funnel cakes, and getting lost in the corn maze. Decorated pumpkins will be donated to the below organizations to help them enjoy and celebrate the fall season as part of a community service project:

  • Ronald McDonald House: Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte provides a safe, affordable and caring "home-away-from-home" for the families of children receiving treatment in Charlotte-area medical facilities. Families are stronger when they are together, and this is never more important than when a child is sick or injured. By offering families a haven less than one mile from our partner hospitals, we increase their ability to spend more time with their child, interact with their clinical care team and participate in critical medical decisions.
  • The Relatives: The Relatives is a system of resources that helps children and youth find shelter and support. Our Youth Crisis Center, On Ramp Resource Center, and Housing programs keep kids safe and families together. The Relatives serves as the Safe Place agency for Mecklenburg County and the surrounding area, partnering with local businesses to ensure young people in need have access to immediate help and supportive resources.  The goal of each program The Relatives offers is to keep kids safe and families together. We believe every child deserves a safe place to sleep and a fighting chance to make it.
  • Charlotte Rescue Mission - Community Matters CaféCharlotte Rescue Mission is a leader in providing free Christian-based residential recovery programs that help people struggling with the disease of addiction achieve long-term sobriety, find employment and stable housing, and restore and build healthy relationships.  Community Matters Café is the product of the dream of expanding the Charlotte Rescue Mission’s program to give graduates the opportunity and tools to thrive in our community, not just survive.  They do this by teaching their students a variety of critical life skills in a cafe/restaurant setting that equip them to get & keep a long-term job.
  • Florence Crittenton HomeThe mission of Florence Crittenton Services is to promote health and hope for tomorrow’s children by providing comprehensive health, educational and social services for single pregnant and non-pregnant adolescents and women, mothers and their babies in the foster care system.  These services are provided to at-risk or pregnant adolescents and women and their families.

Space is limited so be sure to RSVP for you and your family soon (your immediate children under 18 years of age)!
