Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC National Capital RegionWith FY 2021 upon us (beginning October 1), it is always healthy and smart to refresh one’s self (or learn for the first time) the ins-and-outs of the Federal Government’s SBA Small Business Programs for government contracting. It is critical to be familiar and to be on the lookout for possible risks and exposure for a Mandatory Disclosure Rule (MDR) disclosure.
This panel will discuss the SBA’s 8(a), Woman Owned, Service Disabled Veteran, HUB Zone, and other Small Business Contracting Programs, including the Mentor-Protégé Program which has seen recent expansion for large businesses. Also, the MDR is an ever present, but often misunderstood, FAR Rule that mandates self-disclosure of certain criminal or civil violations. While written in vague, far reaching terms, our panel will simplify this provision and provide real world guidance and thoughts on how to “be on the lookout” for violations and how to react.
Presented by Lawrence M. Prosen, Government Contracts & Construction Partner, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP and Adele Navarrete, Senior Corporate Counsel, Logistics Management Institute.
1.5 Hours of VA MCLE credit pending.
