A program hosted by:
ACC ChicagoVolunteer Shift, Nature Walk and Lunch
We invite you to be part of a group of ACC members and their families as we volunteer for an outdoor shift at the Bunker Hill Forest Preserve in Niles. The event will include some brush cutting (to cut down invasive shrubs and small trees that are creating environments that are too shady for native grasses and wildflowers), some seed picking, a nature walk and lunch. We will use handtools including loppers and saws. You can choose to focus on one or all tasks. There will be a brushpile fire nearby where we dispose of the cuttings.
Lunch will be provided.
Notes
A waiver must be signed for everyone who is attending. We will send a waiver to all registrants. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Avoid wearing clothes made of synthetic materials. Best to bring your own water bottle and sturdy work gloves. Tools will be supplied.
