Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Southwest Ohio

Lawyers with a passing familiarity of the iconic Perry Mason show of the late 1950s and 1960s may wrongly think of Perry Mason as only a master of the court room in criminal cases. But, in fact, as was typical of lawyers of his era, Perry’s practice included a far-reaching general practice. In the 1950s and 1960s television show, it is revealed that he drafted wills, trusts, as well as documents for real estate transactions and business deals, in addition to making his masterful appearances in the court room. Perry’s strength as a lawyer, in and outside the court room, stems from his unique insights into his clients, including a keen ability to understand their objectives, human needs, and failings. Moreover, Perry knew how to ask his clients the right questions—realizing that the client often does not articulate the right story. Finally, Perry knew how to retell his clients’ stories in a clear, persuasive, and powerful fashion. Willenken partners Paul Loh and Jason Wilson (who has watched early Perry Mason episodes four times) will unlock Perry’s secrets and reveal how you can use Perry’s techniques in your in-house practice every day to achieve the desired results.
