ACC Community Service Event – Harvest Solutions Farm (Irvine)

ACC-SoCal volunteers (members, friends and family) wanted to help Second Harvest Foodbank OC during Hunger Action Month.  This is a great opportunity to show the kids where the produce at the supermarket comes from as we help plant and harvest at the Harvest Solutions Farm!  Open to all volunteers who are 10 years old and above.

Snacks/refreshments will be provided. Full length pants and closed toe shoes are required, long sleeve shirts and hats/sunscreen are recommended – note that the field may be muddy, and some of the plants have prickly spines.  Feel free to bring your own garden gloves, or disposable gloves will be available if you wish.  ACC-SoCal t-shirts will be provided to members.  Students can receive two-hours of volunteer service credit for their participation.

Directions and Parking: The Harvest Solutions Farm is located at Irvine Blvd and Lambert Road near the South Coast Research and Extension Center (SCREC) whose address is 7601 Irvine Blvd, Irvine, CA 92618. To access parking, you will pass the SCREC main entrance on Irvine Blvd and turn right onto Lambert Road.  Parking is along the fence, past the check-in table, look for the red EZ Up and gray ACC SoCal t-shirts.
