Overview (Program Summary)

ACC San Francisco Bay AreaPlease join fellow ACC SFBA members for virtual consultations about intellectual property (IP) legal issues with Bay Area small businesses led by women. This service is provided by the Legal Services for Entrepreneurs - Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area (LCCRSF), with IP law firm Finnegan providing CLE training in advance and technical assistance throughout the event.
The afternoon will consist of:
• 12:30 – 12:45 – Lunch Delivery & Networking
• 12:45 – 2:00 – IP Law Refresher (1.25 Hrs CA CLE)
• 2:00 – 2:15 – Break Into Groups (2-3 volunteers per client)
• 2:15 – 4:15 – Virtual Consultations
• 4:30 – 5:15 – Networking Reception for Volunteers & Clients
The event starts with a lunch delivery and virtual CLE training session to update ACC members on IP law. Next, members will be placed into small teams (with one or two other attorneys) to meet with their assigned clients. Teams will have a couple of hours to help their clients identify issues and provide counsel. Finnegan and LCCRSF attorneys will be standing by to assist with challenging questions. The day will wrap up with a virtual wine & cheese reception where volunteers will have the chance to socialize with Finnegan, LCCRSF and the small business clients.
All ACC members are welcome, regardless of your level of experience or practice area. Clients sign a waiver, and you are not required to provide Pro Bono services to your assigned clients after this event. LCCRSF provides professional liability insurance for volunteers during the virtual consultation.
