Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC New York CityEMBEDDING DE&I IN YOUR LEGAL DEPARTMENT’S DNA
Increasingly, in-house counsel are learning to use data to show their executive leadership how they're helping their companies meet their strategic goals and increase revenue. Part of this transformation included using data to impact and improve the legal industry or society with their purchasing decisions and demonstrating how they are contributing to the company's diversity, equity and inclusion goals through their recruitment, retention, advancement and promotion of internal talent and their supply chain with outside counsel. This is easier said than done. Internally, it means balancing DEI legal operations requirements with the normal day-to-day legal work within the department. Externally, figuring out what the hiring criteria for outside counsel are, what data is needed from outside counsel, and how to work through any limitations are common challenges. Join this session to learn what the best-in-class in-house teams are doing to address these challenges, what data is being collected, the technology tools they are using to do so, and how they break through resistance to demonstrate how diverse teams benefit clients.
