Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC WisconsinACC WI CLE Program and Networking Sponsored by Husch Blackwell
Companies' legal teams and their external lawyers can use political action to improve their approaches when facing regulatory challenges. To do this effectively, they need a team with solid experience in government relations. Yet, in many companies, the departments of legal advice, public relations, and lobbying work separately. This separation can result in poor risk management and missed warnings about potential risks.
Join Husch Blackwell and ACC Wisconsin for a presentation on corporate counsel’s use of governmental affairs consultants (lobbyists) to mitigate or eliminate the risk created by legislative, regulatory, or enforcement activity. This presentation will also delve into crucial aspects of ethics and legal compliance in relation to government affairs, including the gift rule, lobbying disclosure, campaign finance, political action committees, and pay-to-play government contract rules. These federal rules are very relevant and timely in light of the U.S. presidential election in 2024.
