We will outline the risks of different DEI initiatives and suggest practical steps to ensure that your initiatives remain compliant.

Sarah Maxwell Kadel, Shareholder, Ogletree Deakins
Sarah Kadel advises on all aspects of corporate and employment-based immigration law. She also has significant experience counseling employers on the development and implementation of corporate immigration compliance and antidiscrimination programs under federal and state law, including I-9 compliance and work authorization verification. Sarah develops and executes global immigration policy for corporations spanning various industries, including devising process and strategy across every facet of nonimmigrant and immigrant matters and the permanent residency process. She focuses on counseling multinational corporations on the movement of personnel both into the United States and across the globe. She also provides training, functional direction and insight to recruiters and hiring managers to better equip them to identify and proceed with candidates with immigration needs.
Abigail Wallach, Associate, Ogletree Deakins
Abbey Wallach represents employers of all sizes on all matters impacting their employees under federal and state law, including compliance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), as well as breach of restrictive covenant and trade secret litigation. Abbey handles investigations; charges of discrimination, harassment and retaliation; and defends any ensuing litigation in state and federal court. In addition, Abbey has conducted over 20 Title IX and employment law internal investigations for employers and universities. When not actively litigating, Abbey advises employers to prevent litigation by drafting policies compliant with state and federal law and addressing day-to-day employee issues.
