Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Charlotte

Nearly every company has run a promotional sweepstakes or contest at some point or another, particularly via social media.  But, was their sweepstakes or contest actually an illegal lottery?  This topic would provide an overview of how to conduct a sweepstakes or other contests while complying with the various state laws that apply to lotteries and other games of chance.  We’ll discuss the special requirements for using social media, state bonding and registration requirements, as well as best practices for running sweepstakes and contests.  We will give practical advice that will help guide in-house counsel (as well as marketing teams) in ensuring sweepstakes and contests are a success.

Join us at this NEW-to-us venue for our monthly Chapter Meeting and CLE! The Hamilton is located in the Music Factory directly across from AvidXchange and beside The Fillmore. Parking is free and plentiful AND we have been promised delicious catering and amazing service. We are looking forward to this new space and hope you will join us to check it out for August's Chapter Meeting along with a great CLE from Moore & Van Allen!
