Alphabet Soup - The ABC's of ESG
ESG, it’s not just acronym; it’s a risk management consideration for corporate decision makers from in-house lawyers to board members. This presentation will provide a closer look at ESG - Environmental, Social, and Governance - and why it is important for corporate decision makers in today’s social and legal climate. We will begin with an introduction to ESG. Then we will break down the nuts and bolts of each component of ESG. For the “E” of “ESG,” we will look at SEC rulemaking and litigation related to sustainability efforts taken by corporations as well as California’s corresponding legislation, rulemaking, and litigation. For the “S” of ESG, we will examine supply chain accountability and third-party supplier due diligence surrounding sustainability efforts. For the “G” of “ESG,” we will discuss the convergence of sustainability efforts and board governance, including evolving board responsibilities and litigation exposure. We will close with ESG trendspotting and Q&A.
Speakers:
Tom Grever & Caroline Gieser
