In an ever increasingly digital world, the significance of cybersecurity has reached unparalleled heights, and, in turn, has become an essential safeguard for individuals, businesses and governments alike. During this program, Lewis Roca lawyers, Patrick Emerson McCormick and Salma Granich, will break down the ins and outs of the Nevada Gaming Commission’s recently enacted regulations surrounding cybersecurity and how operators should interpret and implement them.

Patrick Emerson is an associate in the firm's Litigation Practice Group. Patrick is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and assists clients on how to best protect themselves from data breaches, and how to respond if one occurs. His litigation practice focuses on corporate, intellectual property, and emerging industries litigation. Patrick handles any issues his clients come across, from formation to dissolution and everything in between, including profit sharing, licensing, real estate, or derivative actions. Patrick is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law, during which time he worked at the USC IP and Technology Law Clinic and externed for the Honorable Neil W. Salma Granich is an associate in the firm's Regulatory and Government Practice Group. Salma’s background includes legal research and writing on commercial and interactive gaming. Salma has experience assisting clients with regulatory matters relating to gaming operations. She has assisted in the preparation of gaming license applications and regularly communicates with regulatory agencies and boards within the gaming industry. Additionally, Salma assists with interactive gaming matters by drafting 50 state surveys, terms and conditions, and sweepstakes promotional rules. In addition to license applications and compliance issues, Salma assists in the firm’s corporate law practice.
