Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC ChicagoSince ChatGPT’s release at the end of November 2022, legal professionals haven’t been able to ignore the possibility of applying generative AI to the practice of law. By December, legal scholars had published papers reflecting on its potential benefits and risks. By early 2023, a new, more capable large language model, GPT-4, became the first AI to pass all 3 sections of the Uniform Bar Exam. And by June 2023, a lawyer had already been sanctioned for misusing this AI in the practice of law. Unfortunately, this was not the last case addressing the misuse of this technology in the practice of law.
This presentation offers licensed and unlicensed legal professionals the opportunity to learn how today’s advanced AI technology works so they can use it responsibly in their legal work.
