ACC Hong KongExperts from Baker McKenzie will delve into the Hong Kong Government’s proposed legislative framework for enhancing the protection of computer systems of critical infrastructures, which will lead to the tentatively named Protection of Critical Infrastructure (Computer System) Bill, as proposed by the Hong Kong Government on 25 June 2024. The proposed Bill will seek to regulate expressly designated large organisations responsible for critical infrastructure services, requiring them to secure their critical computer systems and related information and to report cyber incidents. The Bill will also seek to provide investigation powers to the Commissioner’s Office, including an ability to enter premises to execute a search warrant in certain circumstances.
