Overview (Program Summary)
Environmental regulations are evolving quickly, and companies will have increasingly more opportunities to influence new or updated rules that affect essential aspects of their business, from materials restrictions and disclosure rules to energy efficiency, emerging contaminants, and emissions requirements. Participating in the regulatory process, as an individual organization or an industry group, is critical to ensuring an agency understands and responds to concerns about technical data as well as the practical effects and potential costs of the proposed regulation. During this webinar, Nessa will discuss best practices for in-house counsel to proactively advocate for their company’s interests, whether directly or through a trade association, on proposed regulations and the keys to effective comment submission at the state and federal level. She will also discuss factors to consider when evaluating whether to challenge a rulemaking in court.
