You will leave this session with practical insights and strategic perspectives after considering current cases  and covering sub-topics such as:

   +   Does the use of AI Tools place your IP at risk and if so, how can this be addressed?
   +   Does the use of AI Tools place you at risk of infringing the IP of others?

Tim O’Callaghan, IP Partner, Piper Alderman

Tim is a partner in the Intellectual Property team, the Head of Piper Alderman’s Adelaide Office, and Deputy Managing Partner.  With over 30 years’ experience, Tim assists in the management and protection of the knowledge, ideas and brands of major Australian companies. 

Assisting clients in intellectual property protection and portfolio management, Tim’s expertise includes filing trade mark applications, oppositions and removal proceedings and managing both the litigious and commercial aspects of intellectual property protection.  He enjoys helping organisations formulate intellectual property related business strategies and planning and implementing strategies and tactics through special projects.  Tim develops a good rapport with a client’s key people, helping them understand the implications of intellectual property issues and assisting them in initiating and developing best practice models for intellectual property management.

Tim addresses clients and interest groups on the issues involved in the management and protection of knowledge, ideas and other intellectual property assets.  Tim developed BrandProtect®, Piper Alderman’s unique assessment, monitoring and protection service for trade marks and brand names.
