Overview (Program Summary)

This Webcast will delve into the critical intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), ethics, and regulatory compliance, using the compliance trifecta approach of "say it, do it, prove it." Participants will learn about the latest developments in AI ethics and regulatory considerations, as well as their ethical obligations as AI practitioners. While the importance of ethical AI has been in the spotlight recently, with good reason, there are also nuanced ethical requirements specific to lawyers that are implicated by the use of AI, from competence, to acceptable use avoiding bias, to confidentiality of information, AI will weave intricately into the daily lives of lawyers.

From articulating clear ethical principles and compliance requirements for AI development and deployment, the practical implementation of ethical and regulatory requirements to the demonstration of accountability and transparency in AI governance, participants will have an understanding of the compliance trifecta approach and how to apply it to AI governance. They will also be equipped with practical tips and strategies for managing ethical, regulatory, and legal risks associated with AI development and deployment, and for fostering a culture of responsible AI innovation. Specifically, the panel will discuss the following ABA model rules:

o ABA Model Rules - Rule 1.1: Competent Representation

o ABA Model Rules - Rule 8.4(g): Harassment and Discrimination

o ABA Model Rules - Rule 1.6: Confidentiality of Information
