National Conference

"One of the many things I love about my job is that I get to work behind the scenes with ACC members and committees to craft sensational program content." says Karina Butera, ACC Australia’s Head of Programs. ACC Australia’s In-house Legal National Conference is the biggest canvas of the year for us to create unique in-house legal educational and professional development artistry upon. And this year, the scope has become so much larger due to no longer having the time and space restrictions of delegates having to gather in one central point.

It has been so rewarding for me over the past couple of months to have preliminary discussions with speakers about topics of interest to members. I ask each speaker “what are you passionate about right now that you think the in-house legal audience would love to hear about?” And fascinating conversations flow from there. The brainstorming between speakers and members has been energising so far, that my notebook is full of inspiring words.

We already have so many great sessions and amazing speakers locked in, and we’ve only just started!

There is content on diversity, equality and inclusion in this year’s program; updates on cyber-security, change management; how to get onto (and more importantly, add value on) boards; neurotechnology; ethics and empathy (an unlikely pairing, but wait to you hear why they go perfectly hand-in-hand); class actions; social media … the list goes on!

There are currently plenty of conversations in process that I am not yet able to share with you until final approvals are given, but just wait till you see who we are lining up to share with you in November. The program, while still in creation, is in great shape, and we are now ready to publish the work in progress.

Click here to view the conference program as it sits right now. You still have time to purchase at the advanced early-bird rate, which is only $265AUD for members and $670AUD for non-members, which ends on Friday, so it’ll pay to make registering a priority now.
