What do you do to maintain wellness, good mental health and balance in your life?
I love to travel and experience new things, so my husband and I will make sure we set aside a family getaway whenever we can, even if it’s just a long weekend. We are lucky here in Western Australia that there are so many places to explore and discover, despite Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Also, don’t forget to be kind to yourself by setting realistic expectations not only for yourself but also for your team mates. This includes ensuring I really take some quality time away from the laptop and phone calls; and communicating my holiday plans in advance to my team so they are aware. I used to stress myself out by working until the last minute before boarding a plane – I’d be there at the gate, trying to type out one last email, which is never a great start to a holiday! Leave your laptop at home if you can!
