This session covers the widespread uptick in Congressional investigations and what it means for the private sector in many areas, including but not limited to healthcare generally and drug pricing specifically, consumer protection, and big data and privacy. This session will also cover the increased, aggressive oversight of government contractors and those companies that intersect with the White House and Executive Branch agencies — especially on hot button political issues, such as immigration, disaster relief efforts in Puerto Rico, and many others. The panel discusses how these investigations work, the contours of Congress’s authority to conduct such investigations, and what the private sector can do to be prepared.
