The purchase or license of information technology involves a myriad of issues which should be addressed by the purchaser/licensee and its counsel.  The following outline is created to serve as an initial checklist for the customer in such an acquisition.  The checklist is not intended to, and cannot, be comprehensive with respect to all information technology acquisitions, but rather is an attempt to assist the customer at the outset of a proposed acquisition on issues of general application.  The reader should consult with counsel prior to accepting any agreement for the purchase, license or development of information technology.
