With so many people socializing, working, learning, and in the case of younger people, virtually growing up on the internet, the need has emerged for governments to respond to the unique challenges that arise in the digital world. Coupled with the finalizing of the Online Safety Act, the eSafety Commissioner could become a much more powerful regulator of internet-related matters by 2022.
