Big Tech has recently taken the initiative to set it outs own vision; for example, Microsoft has published ten fairness principles by which it will manage the Microsoft Store.
This article takes a look at Australia’s homegrown global tech player, Atlassian, and their recently published “8 principles for sound tech policy”; the eight principles include: clear objectives, a clear understanding of relevant technology, minimizing unintended consequences, developing tech policy through open and consultative processes, providing for transparency in government decision-making, molding and targeting behaviors across a sector, being mindful of global standards, and ensuring that regulatory outcomes are measured, fair, and reliable.
