Uluru Statement

I have never written to my member of parliament until now.

As a supporter of the Uluru Statement from the Heart, I was very happy to hear that there is now a quick and easy way to pass on my views to my local Federal MP. A visit to the website, ulurustatement.org will now provide you with a quick and easy tool to identify and email your Federal Member via the site, as well as some ideas on key messaging to include in your correspondence.

The Uluru Statement from the Heart calls for three things:

  1. Voice: Enshrining a First Nation’s Voice in the Australian Constitution;
  2. Treaty: A Makarrata Commission to supervise agreement or treaty making; and then,
  3. Truth: The Makarrata Commission to oversee a process of truth telling for the nation.

ACC Australia endorses the Uluru Statement from the Heart, you can read all about it here ACC Supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart and You Should Too

So, if you too support the Uluru Statement and wish to advocate for the enshrining of a First Nations Voice to Parliament protected by the Constitution, please write to your MP and urge them to take action. Together, we can generate change.
