The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) is the world's largest organization serving the professional and business interests of attorneys who practice in the legal departments of corporations, associations, nonprofits and other private-sector organizations around the globe.
This presentation will address hotly negotiated commercial contract terms and common challenges faced by in-house counsel when working with business teams and internal stakeholders, drafting, reviewing and operationalizing commercial agreements.
This session will look at risk mitigation steps that can be taken throughout the contract lifecycle with particular focus on representations and warranties and termination provisions, best practices and market trends when drafting indemnity and limitation of liability provisions, and effective dispute resolution provisions. You will hear from both corporate and litigation counsel, along with in-house counsel, on how to make these clauses work for you and how to minimize risk.
Following the session, guests are welcome to stay and mingle for a cocktail reception.
This webinar will provide timely updates to recent developments in employment laws, including major revisions to laws regarding pregnancy, overtime and employee classification. This presentation will be both interactive, fun, and informative!
This presentation will explore recent Supreme Court rulings that have reshaped the landscape of administrative law. We’ll begin with Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, a case signaling the end of Chevron deference, a doctrine that has long guided courts in deferring to federal agencies' interpretations of statutes. Next, we’ll examine Jarkesy v. SEC, which questions the constitutionality of administrative courts, addressing concerns about due process, jury trial rights, and the separation of powers. Finally, we’ll analyze the implications of CFPB v. Community Financial Services Association, focusing on the constitutionality of the federal funding structure for agencies like the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. This comprehensive round-up will provide key insights into how these rulings are altering the powers and accountability of federal agencies.
