Now more than ever, organizations are facing pressure from those they do business with and the general public to have sustainability plans in place—and for those plans to be thoughtful, deliberate and measurable. Faced with a litany of options to consider when developing sustainability plans, companies are faced with a challenging decision: where should they and their companies look when they set out to “go green” and what legal considerations to take into account.

Panelists, Jennifer Wnek, Senior Counsel at Akin Gump, and Benjamin Parvey, CEO  at Blue Sky Power, will take a look at options available for companies seeking to embark on a robust sustainability effort, and what organizations should consider when formulating a plan. We will examine possibilities ranging from the straightforward—installing solar panels on a building, incorporating combined heat and power systems—to more complex options such as synthetic power purchase agreements, remote net metering, and more. Understanding that there is no “one size fits all” approach, this discussion will be a helpful guide to sustainability for general counsel and other inside counsel to help put their organizations on a more sustainable path.
