The New to In-House Special Interest Group (NTIH SIG) is designed to be a place where lawyers who are in the early stages of their career or have recently made the transition from private practice to the in-house legal world can gain additional support, benefit from tailored learning opportunities and have the opportunity to acquire knowledge from and network with other lawyers who are in a similar position. The aim of the NTIH SIG is to ensure that those who commence in or move into an in-house legal role have a smooth transition and develop an appropriate support network within the in-house legal community to allow them to thrive. When we say ‘new to in-house’ we do not only mean graduates. We also mean those who have transitioned from a private practice role or other legal area and are embarking on an in-house or government career.
The NTIH SIG launched in late 2019 and has since been established into the ACC Australia program. We seek to run professional development events such as roundtable discussions, CPD events, workshops and sessions at our major events including In-House Counsel day and the In-House Legal National Conference.
We value peer-to-peer learning and maintain this as a key part of the learning and development of our members. We seek to provide resources and networking opportunities for those who are new to in-house.
We welcome your ideas and thoughts to contribute to the development of the NTIH SIG because we want to assist you with your development. Let us know by emailing t.henderson@accglobal.com about topics you’d like to hear, articles you’d like to read, CPD you’d like to attend and webinars you’d like to tune into.
