In 2018, Association of Corporate Counsel Australia aims to provide you with new and enhanced opportunities to connect, engage and learn through our events and services.
In-house Counsel Day (formerly the Corporate Counsel Day)
Association of Corporate Counsel Australia offer a specialised conference day that is tailored to in-house counsel roles across business and government departments. The SA, VIC, NSW and WA In-house Counsel Days are now open for registrations. This years’ theme is “more than a lawyer” and the one-day conference will provide industry insights and highlights across a range of areas including:
• Leading cultural change
• Legal Operations: Be effective, be more efficient
• Pitching to your stakeholders
• Industry black letter law updates
• Maximising your reach and personal networks using LinkedIn.
• Ethical Leadership in the workplace

CLO Club
In 2018, Chief Legal Officers will enjoy new opportunities to engage and connect with industry peers through specialised conference learning streams, exclusive dinners and a range of industry forums and roundtable discussion. As part of the In-House Counsel Day, Chief Legal Officer’s will have the opportunity to participate in the CLO Club and attend the exclusive CLO Dinner. Places are limited so book early!
CPD Events
Throughout 2018, Association of Corporate Counsel Australia will continue to deliver high-quality and relevant CPD events for our members. The 2018 CPD calendar will highlight best practice within the in-house sector through case studies, panels and Q&A discussions. Our 2018 CPD Calendar will be launched this week so keep an eye on the events page as more events are added.
This year, Association of Corporate Counsel Australia will also expand its on-demand content, providing added opportunities to earn CPD points via video content, webinars and podcasts.
Women in the House (WITH)
On the March 9, 2018, Association of Corporate Counsel Australia will launch the Women in the House Network luncheon series. Women in the House (WITH) is a women’s networking group that seeks to foster the professional development of women as in-house counsel, support and engage women in their professional roles; and champion full and equal recognition of women in the legal profession across the globe.
Thought leadership
Launching in 2018, our Thought Leadership luncheon series will draw on political, social and industry speakers to provide updates on the latest industry trends and issues, while also helping to facilitate networking. Lunches will be held in each major capital city in 2018 and focus on issues relevant to the in-house sector.
Mentoring
Our successful mentoring program will continue in 2018. This year we will deliver enhanced training for mentoring participants and provide an increased number of mentoring opportunities for Association of Corporate Counsel Australia members. Mentoring applications will open February 13.
Legal Tech Corner
In 2017, our member feedback outlined some of the challenges associated with navigating the ever-expanding legal tech market. With the launch of our Legal Tech Corner, we look forward to providing simple, streamlined information to help you better understand and identify different software and legal tech applications for your needs.
