KPI for Corporate Counsel: Resolving disputes in a cost-effective and timely manner. Why should you consider litigation when Mediation is so effective?
Using Mediation to settle complex disputes is becoming commonplace. We will examine the role of the Mediator, the dynamics and the procedural characteristics of a Mediation to explain why it is so effective.
Speakers
Mr. Yang is recognized by Who’s Who Legal as a “Thought Leader for Mediation – Global Elite” (2017 to 2020 - one of 20 recognized globally) and one of the world’s leading commercial mediators annually since the list was first compiled in 2011. Mr. Yang also conducts accredited mediation courses in Hong Kong and Macau and frequently lectures at China, Hong Kong and Macau universities. He also taught Mediation as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His diverse background in science, computing, business and law coupled with his fluency in English and 3 Chinese dialects (Cantonese, Mandarin, Shanghainese) enables him to flow between different cultures, languages and subject matters. He was the first Asian Accredited by the International Mediation Institute (The Hague: https://www.imimediation.org/member/norris-h-c-yang/) and the first Hong Kong lawyer to be honoured as a “Distinguished International Neutral” of the CPR Institute (New York: www.cpradr.org). He is an Accredited Mediator of Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited (HKMAAL), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and Law Society of Hong Kong (General and Family). He is also on the panel of Assessors for HKMAAL. Mr. Yang is presently the Chairman of the International Negotiation and Mediation Society Macau, Chairman of the Communications and Publicity Committee of HKMAAL and was past Chairman of the Hong Kong Mediation Council (2003-2006). He is also a member of many Government Committees related to Mediation. |
