Updated rules on backdoor listings

On 11 December, Skadden partner Christopher Betts and Counsel Anthony Pang presented to HKACC members an hour long seminar on the topic of "The Impact of the Updated Rules on Backdoor Listings on M&A Transactions in Hong Kong". The seminar covered the timeline of the changes to the rules, the various tests applied to issuers' businesses, and the intended and unintended consequences of the updates on acquisitions, disposals and capital raisings. This was well attended by our members.
