 Accommodations issues in the workforce are increasingly complex, and questions regarding mental health accommodations are on the rise. Join Fisher Phillips and in-

house counsel at Duke University and Duke University Health System for a refresher on the accommodations process, a discussion of the ever-changing landscape of

reasonable accommodations, and the unique issues surrounding the accommodation of mental health disabilities. They will also address difficult issues such as remote

work as an accommodation and reassignment as an accommodation of last resort.

Lauren G. Goetzl

Lauren has significant experience representing and advising employers concerning all forms of employment issues, including claims arising under Title VII, the Americans 

with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and similar state and local laws in numerous state

and federal courts and agencies. Lauren has substantial experience working with employers of all types and sizes in a wide variety of industries. See her complete bio here.

 

Elizabeth Ramirez-Washka

Elizabeth joined the Duke University Office of Counsel in February 2023 where she advises Duke University and Duke University Health System on matters involving employment and labor law and employment litigation. Prior to joining the Office of Counsel, Ms. Ramirez-Washka was Deputy General Counsel and Chief Diversity Officer for the Boy Scouts of America, where she provided legal advice and strategic guidance on employment matters and was also accountable for developing and implementing diversity, equity and inclusion strategy for the organization. Prior to working at Boy Scouts of America, Ms. Ramirez-Washka was Corporate Counsel Employment and Labor for a multinational corporation where she provided legal advice relating to the employment and labor practice of the corporation.  See her complete bio here.
