US and Europe session: REGISTER HERE for Friday 10 November
An ever-expanding collection of legal instruments compel employers with global workforces to conduct and publicly disclose their human rights due diligence efforts. With the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights as a cornerstone, nations across the globe are passing laws to regulate and eliminate forced labor. While traditionally viewed as an issue for large companies with extensive supply-chains, addressing the risk of forced labor (whether alleged on Thai shrimp boats, Bangladesh garment factories, agriculture in the Americas, and alleged State-sponsored forced labor in the Xinjiang region of China) is a critical issue for any business with international connection.
Panelists will address not only the current state of the law on forced labor and other business and human rights issues, but also traditional and innovative approaches employers can take to reduce the risks of alleged forced labor in their workforces and supply chains.
