AI and Privacy: What Every Company Needs To Do Today

This session will introduce the basics of AI governance, such as ownership, cross-functional coordination, policies, and reporting to the board. We will walk through the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, and discuss implications and best practices when using AI for HR and recruiting purposes. We will review how existing privacy laws apply to AI (e.g., laws concerning profiling, automated decision-making, and opt out).  We will also address privacy implications of existing and anticipated employment legislation seeking to mitigate potential bias caused by the use of AI in employment decisions. Finally, we will introduce some of the risks associated with AI and what companies can do to protect themselves.
