HBA LegalLine Powered by HVL (Virtual or In-Person) Licensed volunteer attorneys assist with providing legal advice and information to HVL applicants over the phone on Wednesday evenings and Friday afternoons. Volunteers are assigned 4-8 consultations to call. Each volunteer is matched with an HVL Staff Attorney for guidance and mentorship, as needed. Volunteer attorneys will have access to online legal resources and telephonic language interpreters, if needed. We can ask HVL for details on in-person participation.

Veterans Clinics (In-Person) Up to 10 licensed volunteer attorneys provide advice and counsel to veterans in person on Friday afternoons from 1 pm – 4 pm - at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Hospital located at 2002 Holcombe Blvd 77030, VA Hospital BLDG 108A. An HVL Staff Attorney Mentor will be on-site to help with the legal advice sessions and provide access to necessary resources. https://www.makejusticehappen.org/

Street Law
Street Law is a global, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization with more than 40 years of experience developing classroom and community programs that educate young people about law and government. Street Law programs and materials help advance justice by empowering people with the legal and civic knowledge, skills, and confidence to bring about positive change for themselves and others. Over the past several years, ACC Houston has proudly supported the Street Law organization.
