Join the many members and sponsors who signed up in 2021 and commit to expanding your diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts and to fighting for racial and social justice within your communities. If you haven’t joined the fight, suit up; if you’re doing good work already, do more.
As lawyers, we are officers of the court, members of the bar, and defenders of the rule of law. As leaders in our legal departments, law firms, and/or organizations, as well as the communities where we live and work, we have the opportunity to have an impact and inspire others to do the same. As such, ACC NCR challenges each member, member organization, sponsor, and sponsor representative to play an active role as a forceful advocate for racial and social justice.
How can you fulfill the Challenge? One option is to start with the resources on this DEI webpage! Join an affinity group, participate in the USF DEI in the Workplace Certificate Program, watch the 2021 DEI Annual Conference, and read the survey results, list of observances, and briefing sheet and put what you learn into practice! Need more ideas? Examples of personal actions; diversity, equity, and inclusion activities for organizations; and community racial and social justice initiatives are listed here. You do not need to do them all or even any of them - they are ideas only. Please submit new ideas to be added to the list to diversityandinclusion@accnationalcapitalregion.com.
