ACCNJ Code of Conduct for Events

ACC New Jersey (ACCNJ) is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and respectful environment at all its events, including sponsored events, whether virtual or in-person (collectively, “Events”).
At ACCNJ Events , you must always treat others with respect and civility.
This Code of Conduct applies to all ACCNJ Events and any related activities or social gatherings. ACCNJ Events are governed by this Event Code of Conduct.
This Code of Conduct applies to anyone involved in any Event, including all ACCNJ contractors, employees , staff, members, attendees, guests, speakers, volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, and venue staff. This policy is subject to change without notice.
- Unacceptable Conduct Includes on Any Basis or of Any Kind:
- Violence, threat of violence, unwanted touching, or physical intimidation
- Disruptive behavior, unprofessional conduct, or bullying
- Verbal or written harassment , including but not limited to sexual harassment
- Displaying inappropriate visual information
- Possession of a weapon or an illegal substance
- Violation of the rules of the Event or venue
- Failure to follow any safety instructions of the venue or ACCNJ staff
- Any behavior that ACCNJ reasonably believes lacks respect or civility
Complaints
Contact local law enforcement or emergency services at 911 immediately if you notice a dangerous situation, threat of violence, or believe someone is in immediate distress or threat of bodily harm.
To report Unacceptable Conduct at an Event, contact a member of ACCNJ staff as soon as possible or file a complaint using the ACCNJ complaint form.
You may make Complaints anonymously. Whatever information you can provide, including identifying witnesses, will be helpful.
Unacceptable Conduct reports will be kept confidential as determined by the Board of ACCNJ.
Consequences of Unacceptable Conduct
Unacceptable Conduct will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop Unacceptable Conduct is expected to comply at once.
Violations of this policy may result in:
- Removal from an Event without refund or warning
- Banning from future ACCNJ Events
- Banning from future ACC events
- Revoking ACC membership
- Referral to local law enforcement
Internal Action Steps
If a report of Unacceptable Conduct is made to a host, moderator, or ACCNJ staff or Board member at an Event, immediate contact shall occur via an appropriate communication channel (such as email or phone) to the ACCNJ Board, or its designee, which will review all allegations of violations of this Code of Conduct for Events, and process appropriate responses according to its adopted procedures.
