Josh Elliott - Partner, Marshall Gerstein. With over 20 years of experience, Josh focuses on patent law matters related to biochemistry and biotechnology, including advising and counseling clients on issues such as freedom-to-operate, infringement, validity, and design around strategies. His practice includes rendering opinions, conducting patent due diligence investigations, advising clients on patent portfolio strategies, strategically managing global patent portfolios, and preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Josh also has experience advising clients on due diligence issues related to potential investments, venture funding, and initial public offerings.

Noah Tilton - Partner, Marshall Gerstein.  Noah is a computer scientist and patent attorney whose practice is focused on providing intellectual property guidance to companies innovating in cutting-edge software and hardware technologies. Noah prosecutes domestic and international patent applications, conducts analyses and prepares opinions, and advises clients on litigation matters.

Julie Watson - Special Counsel, Marshall Gerstein.  Julie concentrates on counseling related to intellectual property transactions with a particular emphasis in technology startups and university technology transfer. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) enacted in 2023 makes Texas one of 12 states with a data privacy law. While the TDPSA was modelled after the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, there are differences that should be explored for entities doing business in Texas. This presentation will focus on the elements of the TDPSA: Applicability, Controller/Processor Roles, Data Subject Rights, and Enforcement and how to build a successful privacy compliance program.
