With the increasing convergence of government security regulations, corporate counsel should have a general understanding of both Department of Commerce and State Department's export regulations, including the ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), the EAR (Export Administration Regulations) and other applicable government bodies' regulations. This 'primer' will help counsel to identify what they need to know about export compliance and how to set up a compliance program.
