What We Do

The Governance Committee, which is led by ACC Chicago Board Secretary, focuses on the recruitment, development, training and effectiveness of the ACC Chicago’s Board and Committees through a variety of strategies, including: identifying and supporting committees’ needs, responsibilities and opportunities as well as Board needs, responsibilities and opportunities. More specifically, the Governance Committee focuses on the following:

•    Committee Pipeline Support. Communicating committee opportunities to ACC members and identifying opportunities for volunteers to serve on committees.

•    Committee Support.  Supporting Committees through trainings, pipeline development and other means.

•    Board Pipeline. Identifying experienced and engaged ACC members for possible Board recruitment with an eye to a maintaining a Board that is representative of the ACC Chicago members.

•    Board support. Supporting the Board through trainings, pipeline development and other means.

Opportunities to Get Involved

Generally, the Governance Committee is comprised entirely of ACC Chicago Board members. Currently there are no additional opportunities to serve on the Governance Committee; however the Governance Committee is happy to help identify ways for ACC Chicago members to volunteer for the ACC Chicago Chapter.
